New Orleans, 2009

I am reading “What is the What”
A story of boys crossing deserts, escaping from war
It contrasts beautifully with my journey
They run to safety
I run from safety

But for all of us
What really matters is the journey
Where we end up changes little
But everything within changes
Giving us the strength to do
Exactly what we’re here to do
Even if we don’t know exactly what that is .
